Your Own Bed
Our layered mattress system allows you to
create a breathable layered bed: layer a bed to be as
gentle or firm as you like. For best results, we recommend two cotton/wool and one wool layered mattress
on a slatted platform bed frame. Cotton gives firm support while wool ads resilience.
And then top it off with natural
bedding. Easy to care
for.
Researchers tell us that sleeping with untreated fibers slows the heart rate and helps regulate body
temperature- benefits that lead to more restful sleep and increased energy upon waking.
Our European hand tufted mattress
layers are covered with pre-washed, organic cotton fabric. A
washable organic cotton cover
may be purchased (see below) separately to protect and increase the life of the
product.
In addition to using
these to create your own bed, you can also add one to a traditional
mattress to soften the bed. Many of our customers with
Fibromyalgia have
found that they have been able to sleep better after sleeping on our 3"
Pure Grow Wool Toppers. These toppers make the bed softer than a

How soft are they? They look
soft in the pictures, but they are actually very firm. More firm than a
typical mattress. The reason for this is that each layer will compress as
much as 1/3. Wool adds resilience (softness). Cotton adds firmness. It is a
good bed system for people that enjoy sleeping on futons but want something
a little different.
